Ruth Williams began making cupcakes to sell at the local Farmers Market to raise money to support girls rescued from sexual trafficking in Cambodia. She founded ‘Heart Mothers’ in 2006, a non-profit organization of over eighty women who write and send group packages to a group of rescued child victims in Kampong Cham. The idea to found Heart Mothers came after years of writing monthly to a little girl ‘Mou’and seeing her heal and respond to the love of a mother figure. Now all the girls at the center have a Heart Mother far away who loves them. For more info please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The money raised from the cupcakes each summer goes directly to supply the needs of the girls at the center. Ruth’s passion for baking grew, as did requests for special orders, so Ruth decided to create ‘The Sugar Mouse Cupcake House’, named after her favorite candy growing up in England. This way she could continue her love of baking and support her beloved girls in Cambodia. 100% of all the proceeds go directly to Heart Mothers to improve the lives of the girls.
